Obituary
Timothy Holbrook, 65, husband of Shirley Holbrook, passed away, Friday, April 23, 2021, at Baptist Health, Lexington, surrounded by his family. He was born May 4, 1955 in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of the late Howard and Clara Geneva Vitatoe Holbrook. Timothy was a 1973 graduate of Somerset High School, and he loved all sports, grilling out and a wide variety of music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jackie Amburgey, and Hubert “Sam” Holbrook. Timothy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Shirley (Allen) Holbrook, children, Amanda Holbrook, Versailles, Brandon Holbrook, Versailles, stepchildren, Lucy (Alan) Houp, Nicholasville, Julie (Chester) Asher, Barbourville, Daniel Hopper, Barbourville, grandchildren Austin, Maleah, Maddie, Carson, Clay, Brittany, Corey, Dylan, great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Brody, siblings, Stanley (Gloria) Holbrook, Lexington, Gail (Ken) Childers, Midlothian, VA, Norma Holbrook, Morehead, and Sharon (John) Hinkle, Pinehurst, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021 also at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens where pallbearers will be, Roger Meece, David Meece, Rich Meece, Chester Abner, Alan Houp, Junior Burton. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brian Clayton, Jerry Meece, Brian Jewell, Jimmy Howard Holbrook, Brandon Hinkle, Judd Hinkle, Sean Childers. Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and leave messages of condolence here on Timothy’s tribute wall.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
