Tom Edwards

I’ve “rescued” two photographs belonging to the EDWARDS Family of Michigan and Minnesota. The first is identified as Jack EDWARDS and was taken at the Childs Studio in Ishpeming, MI. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880’s or 1890’s with Jack likely in his 30’s at the time it was taken. The second photograph is one of Tom EDWARDS and was taken at the Lang Studio in Tower, MN. Tom is also identified on the photograph as “Jack’s Brother” and appears to be in his 20’s or 30’s when the photograph was taken, most likely in the 1880’s.

Based on limited research I did find some information in census records regarding this family:

1900 census of Duluth, MN:

Jack EDWARDS, age 39, born Nov 1860, married 15 years, born England, parents born England, to USA 1880, a Day Laborer
Anne EDWARDS, wife, age 34, born Oct 1865, married 15 years, no children, born NY, parents born NY

1910 census of Chisholm, MN:

Thomas EDWARDS, age 46, born England, parents born England, to USA 1890, an Iron Miner

1920 census of Hibbing, MN:

Thomas EDWARDS, age 57, born England, parents born England, an Iron Mine Laborer

1930 census of Hibbing, MN:

Tom EDWARDS, age 65, born England, parents born England, to USA 1890
