Tom Holbrook, age 62, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Holbrook was born February 2, 1948, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late James Elliott and Edna Mae Skaggs Holbrook.

Mr. Holbrook was a self employed logger.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Eugene "Bud" Holbrook, and a grandson, Jessie Dalton Holbrook..

Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife of forty years, Shirley Stevens Holbrook; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick Holbrook and fiancé Crystal Deason, Jeffrey and Christa Holbrook, and Robert Holbrook; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bill Parsons; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Holbrook, Jacob Holbrook, Bryar Parsons, Austin Parsons, and Gracie Holbrook; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Sandra Holbrook, Raymond and Rosalie Holbrook, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Elma Soda of Niles, Ohio, Joyce Skaggs of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Loraine and Robert Nicholson of Orlando, Florida, Wilma and Louie Harris of Salt Lick, Kentucky, Chattie and Timmy Kiser, and Glenna and Jerry Gifford both of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Tom also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Victor Mabry and Brother James Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery on Holbrook Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and until the service hour on Saturday.

Michael Gifford, Matthew Gifford, John Holbrook, Billy Jack Holbrook, Jarred Kiser, Roy Lee Holbrook, Phillip Skaggs, and Darl Skaggs will serve as pallbearers.
