This is a cropped face from a photo in which there is a young woman my maternal great-grandmother, Maria Estelle Williams. On the back is written 'Uncle Halliday'. They are both mysteries to the family as to their families, etc. She was said to have come from 'out West', which in 1853 when she was born could have been anywhere west of New York State. It is possible that she was born in CT though. On her married licence it states that she was 'from Rome (or Rouse) NY'. Handwriting very bad. Where he comes from is a total mystery.
I have Halliday ancestors.
ANNA Halliday was my great grandmother.
Birth Mar 1858 in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA
Death 10 Sep 1925 in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, USA
She married Thomas Swallow Sep 14th 1876 in St. Louis Missouri. They had at least two children:
Grace A. Swallow & Anna Ruth Swallow.
I do not know if she had any siblings. Her parents were:
William Halliday b. England
Anna Armstrong b. England or Scotland
