Violette Rome Knapp

I have an old studio photograph of Violette Rome KNAPP which was taken at the Johnson Bros. Studio in Washington DC. Violette's address is also provided on the back of the photograph as 20 8th Street NE, Washington DC. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Violette and her family:

Violet KNAPP was the daughter of Charles Lafayette KNAPP (1841 or 1843-1910 in Washington DC) and Ida R. ROME (b. Dec 1859 in New Jersey – d. 31 Oct 1933 in Washington, DC) who were married 8 Oct 1883 in Nashville, MI. Violet had two siblings, Dorothy P. KNAPP (1888-1967) and Rome Lafayette KNAPP (1890-1978). Violet died in Washington DC on 14 May 1888.

Her parents are both buried in Arlington National Cemetery. When her mother died in 1933 her obituary listed survivors including brothers Dr. John F. ROME and Clarence A. ROME both of Germantown, MD; a son Rome F. KNAPP of Washington DC; and a daughter Mrs. W. R. DEGRAFFENREID of Cottage City, MD.
