"Bib" as he was affectionately known by family member was the son of Phillip and Melissa Holbrook. He never married but was father figure to many. Teaching nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids to fishing, hunt and swim. One of his major accomplishments was "teacher". Through games and competiton he taught history, language, spelling and many other things. Bib was a veteran of the Korean Conflict servicing in the US navy as a sonar man. He was also a coalminer. As a young man he was drafted to play pro baseball, but an injury causing him to lose an eye ended that career before it ever got started.
