Wilfred Masters Kirkbride was NOT an only child. He had a twin brother named Alfred Howard Kirkbride and an older brother named George Kirkbride and two other brothers named Francis Kirkbride and Walter Kirkbride. They were the children of George and Alice Kirkbride. George left Alice and his sons for another life in South Africa, where he had another family. Alice settled in Diamond Creek, Victoria and raised her remaining family. Brother George was in the 13 Lighthorse Battalion in the 1st World War and was one of the 1st Anzacs.
