WILLARD C. HOLBROOK OBITUARY
Afuneral service for Mr. Willard C. Holbrook, 75, of Anniston, will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Harvest Church of God with Bishop Jerry Irwin, the Reverend W.H. Ford and the Reverend Don Maddox officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 p.m. until the service hour at the church. Burial with full military honors will take place at 9 a.m. on Monday at Crumley's Chapel Church of God Cemetery. Mr. Holbrook died August 21, 2014 at Noland Hospital Anniston. Mr. Holbrook was a native of Ontonagon, Michigan. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army in 1979 after a 20 year career of serving his country. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal with a bronze clasp, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his service in Korea, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army, he worked for 12 years at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga. He was a former member of Crumley's Chapel Church of God in Heflin for many years and was a current member of Harvest Church of God. Mr. Holbrook is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Katherine Holbrook; sister, Bernice Holbrook Edmunds and a brother, Robert Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia Dolorice Sewell Holbrook, of Anniston; his daughters, Melinda Holbrook Walker and her husband, Craig, of Ranburne, and Melissa Holbrook Vetter, of Anniston; four grandchildren, Fairen Nicole Walker, Victoria Taylor Walker, Matthew Dillon Minturn, and Blake Forrest Minturn; sisters, Beverly Johnson and her husband, Bruce, of Mapleton, N.D., Bonnie Olson and her husband, Dave, of Fargo, N.D., Barbara Olson of Fargo, N.D. and Robin Holbrook of Fargo, N.D.; a brother, Ronnie Holbrook, of Fargo, N.D. and numerous nieces and nephews.
