William Aboumrad
William Aboumrad was born on June 17, 1921, in the bustling city of New York, New York, to Nicola Aboumrad (1885-1938) and Annice Haboush Aboumrad (1891-1982). At the time of his birth, his father was 35 years old and his mother was 30. He had multiple siblings including Effie, Cleo, May, Lillian, Mitchell, and Eva Lorraine Aboumrad. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and then moved to Mexico City where he attended and graduated from the American High School in Mexico City, Mexico. He then returned to the states and lived in Staunton, Virginia, USA. William Aboumrad then answered the call to serve his country during World War II and enlisted in the United States Army on February 4, 1943 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, joining a wave of Americans who volunteered for military service following the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. As part of the Ordnance Department, William likely worked in the supply and logistics sector of the military, supporting the frontline troops with the equipment and materials they needed to carry out their missions. William went on to marry in 1966 in the town of Templeton, Massachusetts, likely starting a family of his own. After a life that spanned six decades, William Aboumrad passed away in December 1982, at the age of 61. His final days were spent in the quiet city of Henderson, Kentucky.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!
