William Forbes Cooley
I have an old studio photograph identified as W. F. COOLEY which was taken at the Bogardus Studio in New York City, NY. The photograph was taken in the 1880's, most likely while the subject was attending the Union Theological Seminary. I believe that this is a photograph of William Forbes COOLEY who was a member of the Class of 1884 at the seminary.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding William and his family:

William Forbes COOLEY was b. 4 Feb 1857 in New York City, NY to parents Dwight Henry COOLEY (1830-1910) and Agnes Douglas FORBES (1830-1912) who were married 11 Dec 1855 in New York. William was one of 6 children born to this couple including William Forbes; Adalaide Johnson; Mary Louise; Isabelle; Henry Scofield; and Agnes Farber or Forbes COOLEY, all born between 1857 and 1873.

William married Phoebe Scudder CORY (1854-1937) on 30 Jul 1884 in Westfield, NJ. The couple had two children including Helen Forbes COOLEY (b. 1886) and Dwight COOLEY (b. 1887). William died in April 1932 in Bronx, NY and is buried in the Fair Mount Cemetery in Chatham, NJ.

I am hoping to get the photograph to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
