Zee Holbrook August 20, 1935 - November 23, 2007 Kentucky - Indiana

Elder Zee Holbrook, age 72, of Franklin County, IN went to be with his Lord, with his loving wife and children surrounding him, on November 23, 2007 at his residence after a brave and long battle with cancer.

Born on August 20, 1935 in Puncheon, Knott County, Kentucky, he is the son of Randell Eppie and Lizzie Hall Holbrook, both who preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at Visteon and it predecessors for almost 40 years, retiring in 1992. He is a member and former Moderator of the Little Children’s Home of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Franklin County.

He is going to be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Burke Holbrook; daughters, Sheila Garrett, Sharon Sizemore and her husband Gene, Sherry Wooley and her husband Tim all of Liberty, and Renee Gabbard and husband Floyd of Connersville; son Randy L. Holbrook and wife Flossie of Connersville; brothers, Elford Holbrook of Bevinsville, KY, and Oceanus (Betty) Holbrook of Grand Blance, MI; sisters Rushie Thornsberry of Topmost, KY, Viola Mullins of Liberty, and Geraldine Slone of Ravin, KY; thirteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving son, Timothy Dean Holbrook, a grandson, Timmy Y. Gabbard; 3 sisters, Amalean Thornsberry, Maranie D. Holbrook and Frankie J. Holbrook; 2 brothers, Cuddie Holbrook and Arnold Holbrook, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at the Little Children’s Home of The Old Regular Baptist Church on Shady Lake Road, on Tuesday November 27, 2007 at 10:00 am with Ministers of many Old Regular Baptists Churches participating. Burial will follow in the Little Children’s Home Cemetery adjoining the church property and Elder Zee Holbrook’s property. Friends and family may gather at the church starting at 4:00 pm on Sunday November 25, 2007 and continuing until the time of service on Tuesday November 27th, 2007.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
