Katherine Elizabeth (Bundy) Hibbard was born on July 7, 1865 in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky United States. She was in a relationship with William R. Hibbard, and had children Gordon Hibbard, Walter Hibbard, and Noah Hibbard. Katherine Hibbard died at age 92 years old on May 9, 1958, and was buried on May 11, 1958 at Engine Cemetery HWY 11, in Blue Hole.

By all accounts, Carol had an abusive childhood at the hands of her parents. Her mother, an alcoholic, died when she was young, and she was left with an alcoholic father, who began abusing her sexually when she was 11.
Her father then remarried and put her in foster homes. when she was 17, she married a 56 year old man.
Carol met Doug Clark when she was 37, after leaving her third husband. That marriage, too, was abusive.
Teaming up with Clark, who had the same dark fantasies, she began bring prostitutes home for threesomes. This escalated into Clark beginning to have fantasies about having sex and killing while in the act. Carol was complicit, bringing home "partners" for his fantasies to be realized. Then Clark began picking up young girls by himself.
When Clark confessed to Carol, she called the police but she declined to provide information about Clark. As things escalated, Carol confessed to a friend, lured the friend for sex, then killed him.
Eventually, having been caught, Clark confessed to six murders and sentenced to death. Carol was sentenced for two murders - the friend's murder (25 years) and a second murder (27 years).
