Minnie Maddern (1865-1932) actress and playwright born as Marie Augusta Davey in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Thomas Davey (1835-1880) and Elizabeth Maddern (1838-1879). She first married LeGrand White (1859-1901) in 1882 and divorced in 1888, then married Harrison Grey Fiske (1861-1942) in 1890. She died of congestive heart failure in Hollis, New York 1932.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Tom DAVEY which was taken at the Childs Studio in Ishpeming, MI. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Tom likely in his 20's at the time. In addition to his name there is a stamp on the back of the photograph with the name Jemima G. CUNDY suggesting that the photograph was in her possession at some point in time. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Tom and his family:

Thomas DAVEY was b. Jan 1864 in England and came to the USA in 1882. He married Lilly JENNINGS (1872-1938) in 1888 and together they had 6 children including, Howard; Olive; Mildred; Pay; Thomas Edward DAVEY and one other child. Tom d. 1933 and is buried in the Negaunee Cemetery in Negaunee, MI.

His son Thomas Edward or H. DAVEY was b. 24 Oct 1896 in Negaunee, MI and d. 14 Jan 1940 in Lansing, MI, his wife was Cora L. WOODCOCK and they had two children including, Berniece or Bernice Lillie DAVEY and Stewart H. DAVEY. Their daughter Bernice was b. 5 Apr 1920 in Lansing, MI married Mr. ROBERT or ROBERTS and died Oct 1997.

And living directly next door is the EDWARDS Family including 2 who are boarding with the DAVEY Family in 1920
And then on both sides JENNINGS Family members including a Widow Elizabeth JENNINGS age 65 who could be Lillie/Lily/Lilly’s Mother?

My Great Grandfather, Thomas E. Davey, came over from Lands End, Cornwall, England and worked in the coal mines in Scranton, PA when he was a young man in the late 1800's. He and his wife, Margaret Sackett Davey settled down eventually in Hallstead, PA. Thomas E. Davey probably worked in the mines at Scranton during the time of the great Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902.
