Dad home from the War
My Uncle Fred took this picture of my dad when he came home from the second world war. Uncle Fred had a home studio and darkroom and it's hard to believe an amateur took this photograph- it's the best picture we have of my late father, Joseph J. Ruspantini.

United Mine Workers of America Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902 in Scranton, Pennsylvania
My Great Grandfather, Thomas E. Davey, came over from Lands End, Cornwall, England and worked in the coal mines in Scranton, PA when he was a young man in the late 1800's. He and his wife, Margaret Sackett Davey settled down eventually in Hallstead, PA. Thomas E. Davey probably worked in the mines at Scranton during the time of the great Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902.
