Here she is! This picture came out of my Grandfathers trunk. I think the picture was taken in England......I have also scaned the back of the picture,which has the name of the photographer. I looked it up on the internet and found that they were in England. I know that My Great-grandfather was from Ireland. Nathan was born 18 Dec 1837, Cumberland or Sagamon Co., IL, and died 23 Sep 1913 in Emporia, KS. He was a son of Daniel Curry and Susannah (Teague) Farr. Nathan and Nancy moved to Alanthus Grove, Gentry Co., Mo, then to Kansas and finally settled in Emporia. They were the parents of 14 children: Hannibal, Jefferson, Lucetty, Daniel, Otis, Estella, Sarah, Roscoe, Jesse, Lora, Anna, Melissa, Roscoe and Lester. Estella, Sarah, and Roscoe died young. Anna and Rachel died in early womanhood. Rachel fell off a horse at age 19.

When my aunt Margaret "Pete" Riley Homan died I found these wedding pictures of the daughter and her new husband. The pictures were taken or processed by Swanson Photo Service in Oklahoma City but no date is stamped on the back.
My father's name was William Edward RILEY, b. 12 May 1916 d. 24 Oct 1967 both in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. He married my mother, Mildred Viola SILMON, (b, 22 Aug 1918 Grubbs, Jackson County, Arkansas and d. 07 Jun 1988 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas) m. 30 Apr 1938. They were divorced bef 1944.
William Edward RILEY was in the US Navy in WWII (Squadron 466) and he is buried in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. My father was known as Ed by family and friends

My father passed away in December 2001. One of the things he had wanted to do before he became sick, was find out any information about his birth mother and birth father. Obviously my father was adopted, and due to his illness could not proceed with his search. That is why I, being his oldest daughter, decided to work together with my younger sister and find out anything we could. So far...we don't know a whole lot. What we do know is his last name at birth was Farr. We believe that his first name may have been Robert, although were not 100% positive. He was born May 13th, 1946 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His birth mother was born in 1927 and 19 years old when she gave him up for adoption. His birth mother was staying at a maternity home at the time of his birth. She was protestant and had an irish/canadian background. We received information that she was tall and slender with dark eyes and dark hair. We know that she came from a very large family. In fact she had 12 brothers and sisters, the youngest just 2 months old when my father was born!
The information regarding my father's birth father was very limited due to the fact that he apparently had no knowledge of ever having fathered a child. He was in the American army at the time he met Miss Farr (birthmother) and apparently they never saw eachother again after conceiving my father. It was known to us that he was also tall and slender with dark hair, but nothing about his eye color or anything else for that matter.
Finding out the information that we were able to obtain, has been absolutely wonderful! We were surprised to find out as much as we did, although there are still missing pieces to this puzzle. business trip for the past three weeks.
Relatives here late Saturday had no
information in relation to his death.
Farr was employed by the Allied Van
Lines Co. as a driver. He was formerly
a driver for the Merchants delivery
service.
A resident of Oklahoma City for nine
years, he was a native of Harriman,
Tenn. He came to Oklahoma City from
Odell, Texas. Farr was a member of the
Baptist church, and was born May 20, 1917.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lee,
and a daughter, Loretta, of the home
address, 2004 NW 36: his parents,
Mr and Mrs Henry H Farr, of Odell, Texas;
brothers, Lester, of Vernon, Texas;
Lee and Lavender of Odell; and sisters,
Mrs Ordis Phillips of Odell;
Mrs Clay Thrash of Olustee.
Services are pending at Hahn funeral home.
