Gregory Lefever
Mr Lefevere is a teacher and principal in Independence, Missouri. When Alva Gregory Lefever was born on July 15, 1907, in Missouri, his father, Charles, was 24 and his mother, Martha, was 26. He moved 7 times during his lifetime. He lived in Buffalo, Missouri, in 1910 and moved to Missouri by 1951. He died in September 1983 in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 76, and was buried in Jamestown, Missouri.

I’ve “rescued” two old photographs belonging to the LEFEVER or LE FEVER Family of Michigan. The first is of Mellie LEFEVER and was taken at the Smith Studio in Escanaba, MI sometime in the 1890’s when she appears to have been in her teens. The second photograph is identified as Edith LEFEVER and was taken at the same studio, again most likely in the 1890’s when Edith was about 3 years old. I’m hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Lefever woman

Vinal LeFever
My grandfather, Vinal LeFever, of Ulster Co., NY. He was born in May 18, 1869 Port Ewen, Ulster Co, NY, and died there, on May 31, 1939. He married Emmaline "Emma" Smith, of Sleightsburg, NY, on Feb 10, 1897. They had four children.

This is Chester 'Chet' A LeFever, the son of Vinal LeFever and his wife, Emma Smith-LeFever, of Port Ewen, NY. Chet was born Sept 9, 1904, in Port Ewen, Ulster Co., NY and died in 1966, at Coral Gables, FL. His wife's name was Mary Underhill,and they had one child, Vinal Arthur Moore Underhill LeFever. They called him "Art", thank God!

Old tin-type of twin babies, Ester and Chester LeFever, the children of Aaron LeFever and his wife, Mary Jane van Aken. This twins were born Nov 12, 1863, Esopus, Ulster Co., NY. Ester died of "crib death" on Jan 25, 1865. Chester lived until July 14, 1883, and it is said he died of a fever.
