On his WW2 draft card for young men, Phillip was described as being 5 ft 9 inches, of dark complexion, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was living with his mother at 143 W 71st ST in Chicago. His mother "Mrs EG Piton" was his next of kin. He was working at the Baseball Office of the Commissioner = 333 N Michigan, Chicago IL
Phillip was married to Mary A (Brady) Piton, 1906 - 1998, on September 1, 1944 in Cook County IL. They had daughter Margaret Piton.
Wikipedia says that Phillip was a "valuable collaborator" to baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis for 15 years prior to WW2. After leaving the service, he returned to working in baseball for George Trautman, National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues president (1947)
He retired from baseball in 1971.
