Henry was a coal miner, the son of Christopher Seddon who perished in The Oaks Colliery disaster in Barnsley, UK. Henry left England and lived in Plymouth, PA where he married Agnes Belle Weir. They had a number of children and moved to the Dakota Territory in the 1880s. They were Presbyterian / Congregationalist. Henry and Agnes are buried in Mission Hill, SD.
Agness was the daughter of a Scottish coal miner, Mathew Weir. She married Henry Seddon, also a coal miner, who came from Barnsley, Yorkshire, England
