E.P. Youth Faces Possession Charge
Michael Pelham Wolf, 17, 10035 Fenway drive, was charged with possessing a controlled substance early today, after Police Officers W. Pfiel and R. Fishell investigated two cars parked in the middle of a roadway.
They smelled burning marijuana, they said. but could find none of the weed, only three pills believed to be illegal. Wolf was jailed on a warrant issued by Peace Justice Walter McGhee. His four companions were released.

They were the first Naval Aviators to bomb targets on mainland Japan. Fritz lead two fighter sweeps on Feb 16th, 1945. He was an accomplished professor, film and theater critic, author and lecturer but, above all, he was a wonderful human being -- a mensch.

Wolf was part of a golden age in magazine journalism in New York City. From 1964-80, he was the film critic for Cue Magazine, and later became a contributing editor and critic at New York Magazine after it merged with Cue. For four years, 1984-88, he served as the syndicated film critic and columnist for the Gannett newspaper chain.
He is the author of several books, including The Marx Brothers and Landmark Films: The Cinema and Our Century, written with his wife, Lillian Kramer Wolf. He taught film classes in multiple departments at New York University for decades, and his interviews with actors, directors, producers, ranging from Charlie Chaplin to Ingmar Bergman, are housed in the William Wolf Film and Theater Interview Collection at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
Wolf served as president of the Drama Desk for four years and previously served for two years on its nominating committee. He is survived by his wife, Lillian.

Alex Wolf, 18, was a 2018 graduate of Burlingame High School, where he was energized by STEM subjects and the challenge of AP classes. Fluent in Italian, he traveled with the Italian class to Italy during spring break of his junior year. Alex loved running. He competed on the BHS track and cross-country teams and trained in the mountains of Peru. He also loved the out of doors. When he observed a need for ongoing maintenance of trails throughout the Bay Area, he established the Trail Stewardship Club during his freshman year and led it throughout high school. His job as a support person at Summit Bicycles fostered a love of bikes. He immersed himself in the tools of the biking trade and achieved his bike maintenance certification at the age of 15. Alex's strong work ethic was evident in all aspects of his life. Camp Lanakila in Fairlee, Vermont was where Alex spent his summers from 2010 to 2014. He spent significant time working in the Lanakila woodshop, swimming in Lake Morey, and hiking the Green Mountains. Closer to home, Alex could often be found at the Burlingame Public Library, where he explored the full catalog of science and technology titles. Alex is survived by his parents, Andrew and Drewry Wolf; his brother, Spencer; his sister, Emme; and his beloved dog, Dood. He is also greatly missed by grandparents, Janet and John Simpkinson of Cincinnati and Elizabeth Wolf of Palo Alto, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Burlingame Library Foundation or the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California.
