1899 Memorial Services - Second Oregon Volunteers Spanish War: This is a must see document for history in Oregon. It provides a lot of information for soldiers who died and how they died. Interesting; but a long time ago. This is a Memorial Services Pamphlet; eventually there will be 4 pages. 1. Front, 2. Back, 3. Inside and 4. Inside. The Back page has the list of men, the date of death and why it happened, ie drowned; disease; missing.

Back of photo says: From W.H. Beedle, taken in The Palace Ground March 27, 1905. Photo found at antique shop-not my family line. Manila, P.I. .......... newspaper article attached to picture - mentions nephew Corp. William H. Dressler of Houlton. Says William H. Beedle was in Spanish-American War in the US Army and went to Phillipines where he lived. Married with 2 sons and a daughter. more in article.
I received these photos and wish I could say who they are but, was told they are from the Spanish American war Photo taken in San Francisco CA
Henry T. Allen graduated West Point in 1882 and served in the Spanish-American War, the Battle of El Caney, the Mexican Revolution, the Punitive Expedition, World War I, the Battle of St. Michiel and the Battle of the Argonne Forest. He was also US Commissioner in the Inter-Allied Rhineland High Commission. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Photo courtesy of the Library of Congress,

My Greatgrandfather's Military History when he retired from the U.S.Army. out of West Point Military Academy.
My Greatgrandfather came to America from Berlin, Germany after his parent were killed in a accident. he came to Kings Ranch in Texas and was also a Texas Ranger until going in the U.S. Army and serving in the Spanish/American war, where around the time of this photo.

Lorenzo was the son of Civil War Veteran Lorenzo and Emarillas Exline Strosnider of Jackson, Ohio. He served in the Philippine Islands. He was killed in a train wreck there, and his body was returned to Jackson about 1913 for burial in Fairmount Cemetert
