Alfred and Sarah
Alfred, a Landscape Gardener by trade, was born in the village of Sandhurst in Gloucester 1n 1887. The son of Eliza Dalley, daughter of William and Mary Dalley, both of that village. He is a distant cousin of the Dalleys that have settled in Utah, USA in the township of Summit.
Alfred married Sarah Evans in London.
He subsequently served with the Berkshire Regiment in Flanders during WW1, and returned to Sunningdale, Berkshire in 1919 to work at Silwood Park, where Sarah was employed as the Housekeeper. He was a specialist in orchid growing.
