2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER. He came to America about 1900, from Nutsford, England, but always said he was a Scot. There was some kind of family dispute involved in His coming here, and He would say little in detail about His life before leaving Britain. He was a skilled ceramics chemist, an expert on pottery glazes. Somewhere along the way He also picked up a lot of blacksmithing and machining knowledge. He could pick up two sticks, and beat a mean military tatoo on anything around. Somewhere, in the past, He was a military drummer.

MCDOUGAL-DEAN - Ada McDougal was born in Atlanta, Georgia on 16 December 1888. She was the daughter of Allen McDougal II, and Rosina Lillian Loftis. This photo was taken ca. 1905, well before her marriage to Charles A. Dean. She was a beautiful, popular girl, in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was raised. She married Charles Dean, in Atlanta on 21 May 1909.

My maternal Grandmother. She was Born in E. Palestine, Ohio, about 1890. Her Mother was a Clendenning, possibly Cherokee. I am really looking for more leads here. All I know about Her Mother is that She disappeared. Grand Mother Pepper died just after I was born, in 1942.
