This Photograph was found in My Great Grandfather's possessions. He was Frank E. Seavey of East Machias, Maine. He was a FRIEND of Susan Tobey. On the rear of the photograph was handwritten by Susan Tobey: "On this side is the autograph. On the other the photograph of your friend, Susie Tobey. East Machias July 17th, 1864".

My Great Grandfather, Frank E. Seavey served in the 9th Maine Infantry during the Civil War (Union Army). This mystery photograph was found in his possessions. I don't know enough about the Civil War to determine much about this person but he appears to be a Confederate Soldier. I believe my Great Grandfather may have picked up this unknown photo on the battlefield or even killed this individual.

If any Civil War experts could help me out with any info on this person it would be greatly appreciated.
