This picture is of a young farmer with a young woman sitting near him. In the upper righthand corner, you can just make out an older woman standing in the background. I have another "mystery" photo on this site with a better picture of her holding 2 babies. I don't know who she is either.

This picture was in with a bunch of photos of the Williamson family. It might be Laura Smith Williamson's brother or maybe her son. I have no idea when it was taken or where.
Samp Williamson
Samp Williamson
I was told that this is my great Uncle Samp (William Sanford). He was married to Stella Stuart, and that they lived in Richmond VA. My mom Mable Sanderson (married to LeRoy Sanderson-son of Carrie Williamson Sanderson) told me we used to visit them when I was very small. I don't remember it but she said I used to run up and down their carpeted stairs since I had never seen stairs with carpet before.

This is in with lots of Williamson family photos. It might be Laura Smith Williamson's mother or someone else in this family. If anyone knows who this might be please let us know.
Aunt Stella Williamson
Aunt Stella Williamson
This is my great Aunt Stella Williamson. From what I understand, she married William Sanford "Samp" Williamson. Her husband's parents were Daniel Williamson and Emma Payne. Her maiden name was Stewart. There's a story that's been handed down to me that her sister's daughter was the Mary Stuart of Soap Opera fame. My Uncle Carl (jr) swears it's true and he used to go to Aunt Stella's house and as a child, he and his brother (my dad), used to all play together.

Williamson/Sanderson family
Williamson/Sanderson family
Virginia, Carl, Carrie, LeRoy, Carl Jr. Sanderson. Carl & Carrie were married sometime after August 25, 1920. Only Carl Jr. is their child. Carrie was married to Frank LeRoy Litchfield before and Virginia and LeRoy are their children. My dad, LeRoy, never knew that Carl wasn't his dad till he tried to get Social Security and they couldn't find him in their birth records. I'm still looking for info on Frank Litchfield who is my blood grandfather. I'm looking for a picture of him.
unknown couple - Litchfield & Williamson
unknown couple - Litchfield & Williamson
We think this is Frank Leroy Litchfield and Carrie Lilly Williamson.
The back of the picture says it was taken at Howard Photo Studio at 7th St. N.W. Washington D.C. Phone M 8361. The man has on a lapel stickpin, a ring and a tie tac, but I can't see what they are. The woman may be wearing a uniform, we have information that she may have worked at St.Elizabeth's mental hospital.

We know Frank was listed as janitor at Ingram Congregational Memorial Church in Washington D.C. on his WWI registration card. He listed Carrie as his wife at that time. But we can't find any record of their marriage or divorce. They had 2 children, one of which was my father. Carrie later married Carl Isadore Sanderson who was the only grandfather I ever knew. Frank may have moved to Texas and married again. If anyone can conferm the identity of these people please let us know. Thanks.

This is Daniel and Laura Williamson with their grandaughter Virginia Sanderson. Virginia was Carrie Williamson and Frank Litchfield's daughter but Carrie eventually married Carl Sanderson and she took his name.

Camp Marks
Camp Marks
Camp Marks in Washington D.C. in 1932. WWI vets make camp on this site to protest unpaid pensions. This was taken before July 28th when the site was burned.
Daniel and Laura Williamson
Daniel and Laura Williamson
This is Daniel and his wife Laura Smith Williamson. This was probably taken around 1920 to 1923. From what I understand, they had a farm in Spotsylvania County Virginia. Daniel had 2 sons from a previous marriage to Emma Payne. Daniel was 33yrs old when he married Laura who was 17ys old, on 15th of July in 1886. They had at least 9 kids: Jeter, Carrie (my grandmother), Frank, Daisy, Ella, Eva, Pickett, Elsie, Gillis(Eugene).
Etta and Carl Sanderson
Etta and Carl Sanderson
We are pretty sure that this is Etta and Carl Sanderson. We think this is taken around the time he became a citizen in 1893. It was taken in Malden Mass. They had 2 sons: Carl Jr, and Harold. Carl Jr was my step Grandfather, but the only grandfather I ever knew. Carl came from Sweden and changed his name to Sanderson when he became a citizen. We're not sure what it was before.
Camp Marks - "Bonus Soldiers"
Camp Marks - "Bonus Soldiers"
This is Camp Marks 7/28/32 after it was burned by soldiers. It was originally WWI vets come to camp in D.C. to protest unpaid pensions. I don't know anything else about this picture.
