This is a photo of my great grandfather John A. Stout. He was born about 1863, probably in Indiana. He was an orphan and I would like to find his parents and other family. He was raised from young boyhood by a couple named Elisha and Elizabeth Spencer in Wayne (Richmond, Indiana) and Randolph Co., Indiana. The Toneys/Spencers were from Preble County, Ohio and their parents were from Franklin Co., Virgina and PA. Many in the Toney family were from Boone Co., WV now Kanawha Co., Va. Stout was probably John A.'s birth surname, because he mentions an Aunt Jane Stout, Matt Stout, J.A. Stout, and a George Stout in a journal he wrote in in 1894. Does anyone recognize his photo or any of these names or places? I would love to find his Stout parents and family!

This Toney family was from Franklin Co., Virginia and Boone Co., WV now Kanawha Co., Va. They raised John A. in Wayne County, Richmond, Indiana and Randolph Counties in Indiana. John A. Stout had some kind of relationship with his natural family because he mentions the names Aunt Jane Stout, Matt Stout, J.A. Stout, and George Stout in a journal that he wrote in 1994 in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. However, I do not know who these people were. Who were John A. Stout's parents? Where did he come from? What Stout family did he belong to before he was orphaned?

my great grandmother Sarah Jane Colvin (married Isiah Bert Poston) She was born March 15,1854 in Elsie KY...died Nov. 7, 1939 in Tarrent Co, TX. Her father was William Isaac Colvin and mother was Delphia Hamon.

another old picture found in box of old family pictures....maybe a Stout, Hyer, or Muenschenberg (or Minchenberg)

on back of picture...DOWNHYER or Down Hyer ... Elwood IN. This was found in Stout's of Elwood IN photos. My grandfather said Bertha Stout had a brother named ? Hyer. Only problem was she was an only child.? Hyer lived in Homestead PA and ? HYER had two children James and Mary. Maybe ? Hyer was adopted, unoffically?

Has anyone heard of a name like DOWNHYER? And does anyone know these people?

I have three pictures of John Stout and several of his Mother, Martha Mae Havens. I think John was born 1940 or 1941. I want to hear from anyone who knows of them. Thanks, Susan Stout Harlow

Della Stout's photo, found in box of old family pictures, her father or grandfather might of been George,Joseph or William Stout. All of the men were born in Pittsburg, PA in 1860's. Anybody recognize her?

not sure of how this fellow fits in to our Stout family tree. Can someone tell me about his uniform and/or the gun.
