Lakisha Shante (Lee} Barfield was born to Michael Evis Lee and Lisa Ann Barfield. She had siblings Reggie, Michael, Christy, Tracy, Takesha, Lisa, and Carlisha Barfield. Although Lakisa never married, she had one child: Reneaje West. Lakesha was a passenger in a car that was being driven by a 20 year old male. She and the driver died when the car crashed into a house while they were fleeing a traffic stop. The other passenger, a 20 year old male, was severely injured, but recovered. Police had pulled over the car for a traffic violation but the driver sped off and the officer pursued. He stopped the pursuit because the car was being "driven erratically" and sped up to about 100 mph. A few minutes later, the officer found the car had crashed into a house.
