Marion was one of the sweetest souls that have ever touched me. Even Though He's been gone 33 years, there isn't a day that goes by, I don't think about him. He was a brilliant man, very quick wittted, and always had a smile on him. His family moved to Cosby, MO when I was in Junior high. He was with me when I discovered a Mastadon tooth in the Platte River. He and his familly moved to Mesa, AZ in 1968, my Senior year in High School. When I failed to pass an Air Force Physical in Kansas City, I wrote to him and he suggested that I come to Mesa, Earn some money, and He & I could start college together in the fall of 1969. That's when Fate raised it's ugly head. I developed a condition that required surgery. My Bashas insurance wouldn't cover me until 1-70. I was in so much pain that I wrote home and my Mom said they had a policy that covered me til the end of the year. I went back to Missouri and Marion went on to College. When I was healthy enough to come back to Arizona, He moved to St. Louis to complete he College goals at Webster Groves. His life changed as he was a budding Script writer and Actor. He and his girl friend (Never got her name) travelled the East Coast doing acting jobs. In one letter, he wrote "We were driving through Philadelphia and my girl said 'Look at all the flags' and he said 'It's Roy's Birthday". They were on their way to Mt. Desert Isle to do a gig. I saw him last in San Francisco with his partner John in 1986. He had a full life even though it was a short time. I Loved him very much.
