Sebastian Frantz Family Bible
Sebastian Frantz Family Bible
Sebastian Frantz (my 5th great-grandfather)was born 1732 in Wurtemburg, Germany. When he immigrated to the USA in 1752 he brought with him his German Bible. This was the first Bible in the Schoharie area, and he read it to the congregation until they could get a permanent minister. The family donated the Bible to the Old Stone Fort Museum, and it is in a glass display case there.

Henry Frantz Home
Heinrich (Henry) Frantz was the son of Sebastian Frantz. He was born on the Frantz homestead, and as an adult, built this house near his father's on the homestead. He lived here all his life. The place still stands there, and has been kept just as it always was.

This is my grandfather John Stanley Davie wearing the family colors. We descended from the clan Davidson in Scotland. His father, John James Davie, was born in Campletown, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1888. He was one of several orphans or "Quarrier Children" sent to Canada. He arrived on the SS Carthaginian. His sister Jean stayed in Scotland and often sent gifts and clothing to him. This kilt was one of the outfits she sent. John Stanley grew up in northern NY.
