Orrant Oliver Hay enlisted in the Navy before the start of WW1 and served through the war on the USS Chattanooga. He was a merchant marine after the war. He contacted gas in the war and developed TB. He died along with hundreds at Ft. Stanton, NM in a place called "The Hill".

Owen Richard Criswell was a motorcycle rider who often made his wife ride in a side car. Here you see him wearing his motorcycle boots.

Owen R. Criswell worked in the Burkburnet Oil Fields early in life. He was injured once in the oil field and taken to the hospital in a wooden ambulance. He caught Small Pox from the person that had ridden in the ambulance before him since it had not been fumigated between pick ups.

Hedwiga was born in Moravia and came to Texas through Galveston in 1860 at the age of 11. She lived in Flatonia, Texas, Fayette County for most of her life. She married Johann Nikel who was also from Moravia and who also arrived in Texas in 1860.
