He married Maud Bayliss in 1921, and had their first child, Violet, in the same year. He later had 3 more children. His wife, Maud, died in 1942, 9 years after the birth of his final child, Nancy. In 1960, Nancy got married. He spent the whole day decorating and preparing his house for when they arrived back home for the party, after the ceremony. Sadly, they didn't go back to the house for the party, and he was left there for an hour before his eldest daughter came to tell him. A few weeks later, he got very very ill, and became paralyzed from the neck down. Violet's children, who adored him were heartbroken to see him in such a state, and after a few days, he died. two years later, Violet's oldest daughter got married, and a year after that, Tom's first great - grandson was born.
Nellie (Greenman) Moules
Nellie Greenman was born in 1911, to Annie Wootton and John Greenman. She had a brother and two sisters: John, Dora and Margaret. Her father, John, died when she was 9 years old, thanks to an unexploded shell. The shrapnel of it killed him. From then on, she refused to eat eggs, as the egg shell reminded her of her poor father. She got married to Bert Moules in 1936, and had their first child, Audrey, a year later. Another two years later, they had their final child, Graham. Her mother moved in to live with Nellie and Bert in about 1955. Her mother passed away in 1972, and her husband Bert just 14 years later. Nellie lived well into old age, and got to meet most of her great - grandchildren. She was famous in the family for her clever poems she wrote, and her brilliant stories about her long life. She had a guest book at her house which went back 30 odd years, and always sat in her giant, old armchair. In her 90s, she fell down the stairs, and had to be rushed to hospital many times, but she recovered completely every time. The doctors were astounded. She always said she never wanted to reach 100, and she got her wish. She died at the age of 99, a month before her 100th birthday. She had no tombstone, as she didn't want her children to worry about cleaning and putting flowers on it every day.
