Martha Elizabeth FARR FOSTER
Martha Elizabeth FARR 1903-1959 was the daughter of Andy & Sophronia LANE FARR of Blount County, Tennessee. At age 16 she was working in a hosiery mill in Maryville,with her mother, to help support her family. Her father, Andy, had been murdered in 1918.

George Andrew FARR Family
George Andrew "Andy" FARR 1870-1918 and second wife, Sophronia Elizabeth LANE FARR 1880-1950 of Blount County, Tennessee and some of their children. Andy was married first to Martha McCAULLEY. The older children are from the first marriage.
Children, not in order, Albert Lee, Arthur, Ollie, Rebecca, Geo.Jr., Luther, Martha, Granville, William B., Mary Ethel, triplets (died at birth) Ben, Sam & Tom, twins Burl & Earl and Ruth (lived abt. 1 month). Andy was murdered on 14 Febuary 1918 by two men, "with a shot gun and a pistol". The trouble was over a woman, Bertha, with whom both men were involved. Andy had fathered a daughter by Bertha, named Irene.
Andy's wife, Sophronia, was left with these children to raise.

David G. Farr Family
David Granville FARR 1847-1916, wife Rebecca FLINN, Geo. Andrew, Mary and Martha FARR. David and Rebecca lived on Hesses Creek in Millers Cove. David was the son of William and Rebecca Malinda DAVIS FARR and Rebecca the daughter of Joseph Baxter and Rebecca HATCHER FLINN all of Blount County, Tennessee.
Andy FARR (with pistol)was my great-grandfather. Granville was a veteran of the Civil War - Union Army 3rd TN Mtd. Inf.
