Manerva Zick
Manerva Zick
Manerva Zeak/Zick who married William Turner in Claiborne Co. I think all the Zeaks listed in the Claiborne Co marriage records were her siblings. I found them as Zick on one census (I think they were listed under Jacob Zick) in either Claiborne or Union Co, and I believe I found them listed under ZUCK in Grainger Co, too. Manerva's father supposedly died during the civil War. My grandmother told me that when she was a little girl she remembers her grandmother Manerva telling her that when her father left to join up with the Union army, he was whistling a song called "Hick's Farewell".

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
