Darlene Naomi Iwanaga (nee Imizu) was a Japanese-American female who was born and raised in San Diego, California. Her parents were her father, Masao Imizu, and her mother, Kazuko Imizu. She had one younger sister named Karen Imizu (now Nagayama). She attended elementary, junior, and senior high school in San Diego. She was on the honor roll in high school and graduated with distinction in June of 1969. She was admitted to and attended Whittier College for 4 years from 1969 until her graduation in 1973. Following graduation, she met and married Douglas Iwanaga. They had two children, a son named Michael and a daughter named Kathryn. Darlene was a very sweet, intelligent, and decent human being. She was also an outstanding wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
