John Duval Clarke
A photo of John Duval Clarke, born in Bethesda 7th December 1894, later moved to Bangor.
Second son of Amilius and Ellen Clarke of High St Bangor.
Prior to WW1 he was serving his apprenticeship in Coventry at the Humber Engineering Works who made bicycles.
He enlisted in Birmingham on 17th September 1914 and was sent to the Dardanelles Where he was shot and died the following day from a gunshot wound to his head. He was just 20 years old.
