My surname is Townsend. I'm searching for Townsend ancestors back farther than James Porter Townsend who married Elizabeth Jane Williams. James passed away in Colorado, 1800's. His son was my GGGrandfather Ullysses Grant townsend. Ullysses' Son was Solon Peffer Townsend/Solon's son was my father. A cousin up N. CA and I are trying to get back farther than James Porter townsend. There are some of us in So. CA.

Mack Townsend married to Leona Birge,he was the son of Calvin Townsend & Sarah (Packard) Townsend of NW Arkansas. His grandparents were James Townsend & Louisa (Dutton) Townsend. His g grand parents were Andrew & Lucinda (Blackburn) Townsend.
