Log Home of Isaac Sumney, IV
One of the log outbuildings on Isaac's farm. Isaac was a potter and well as a farmer and operated a successful pottery for most of his lifetime.

Close-up of Isaac's log home. Isaac passed the home and property to his eldest son, John & it remained in the family over several generations. It is now owned by an unrelated family & is designated as a County Historic Landmark.

After his father's death, Isaac and Maria Turney Sumney moved their family from Westmoreland Co. to Washington Co., Pa. On 1/16/1817 he purchased land along Mingo Creek and built this log home.
Brick Oven
This brick oven stood behind the James H. Lusk farmhouse along Mingo Creek. According to the family, Aunt Clara baked the best bread they ever tasted in that oven.

Barn on the James H. Lusk farm along Mingo Creek in the 1930's. All buildings were removed, except for the farmhouse when the area became Mingo Park.
