Valley Haaksma of Houston, Harris County, Texas was born on September 15, 1907, and died at age 79 years old in November 1986.
He was the son of a Dutch immigrant, Albert Haaksma. His mother, Millie Myrtle was from OK. He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He was married to Bonnie (Wood) Haaksma and had 2 children, Ronald, and me (Beth Haaksma).
Dad was such a gentle, loving man and a real joy to be around. My best memories were our times that we went fishing. We were always going to the beach and taking our boat out to go on fishing trips in the bay at Galveston or Texas City.
