Sanford Ellison Pruet
My Great-Grandfather was taken prisoner at the battle of Champion Hill and was exchanged in 1864. After a brief furlough home to Ashland, AL he returned to his regiment. He was killed during battle and buried in a common grave at the Old City Cemetery, Nashville TN. After the civil war his body was disintered and buried in the Confederate Circle at Mt. Olivet Cemetery next to others from his unit. His wife Drucilla Castleberry Pruet is buried in Ashland, AL. The government placed a marker at his grave in 2004.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
