Linnea, my gramma, had unforgettable bright red hair and lots of character to match it Throughout my youth, I remember my Gramma Donoghue enjoyed playing cards, and inviting us to holiday celebrations at her house, especially every Thanksgiving. She took pride and spent hours on making home made walnut bread, sage, stuffing, pumpkin, apple, and mince meat pies, and slow basting her turkey all night long. Gramma Donoghue was great friends with her neighbors the Gariiepy's next door to her house 223 NW St in Corry PA, and frequently invited them over as well to spend the holidays with us. She was especially tight with Uncle Andy, her brother, who lived alone in downtown Corry, and who never missed a holiday with us, whether it was in Corry PA, or at our home in Frewsburg, NY (especially since he was the main source of transportation for her and her kids from PA to NY on the holidays). Linnea Donoghue passed away on January 13, 1997 in Corry, Erie County, PA, and was buried at Saint Thomas Cemetary in Corry.
