Edward Roberge - US Army
Edward Roberge (my dad) was stationed at Ft. Dix at the time this photo was
taken. He was honorably discharged from the army in the spring of 1948. He
came back to Rolette, North Dakota - met my mom, Loretta Bourassa, and within
six months they were married. I was born a year later, with six more children
to follow. Their first winter as a married couple recorded the largest amount
of snow in that area since snowfall records were kept. That was in the winter
of 1948-1949.

Great Grandfather Napoleon
Napoleon Roberge was the patriarch of the Roberge Family in North Dakota.
All other Roberge family members that still live in ND or were born and
raised in ND can trace their roots back to him.

Louis Roberge Family
Louis Roberge was a homesteader and farmer. He and his wife, Marie Anne Roberge raised eight children on their farm. When this picture was taken, the youngest, Virginia was one year old. My father, Edward Roberge, stands in the doorway.
He was five years old at the time.
