2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

He went by Steve not James. He was married twice, and had one son, Stephen Isaac Spurrell from his first marriage.
He fought a lot of demons over his lifetime, resulting in a need for a liver transplant. In the last several years of his life, after hitting bottom, he turned his life completely around. For the rest of his days on this earth, his life served as an example to others in how to do good and be good. He was always willing to help others, even when he wasn't feeling well. He would talk about how much he regretted wasting so many years of his life which cost him from being a true father to his son. These things were always on his mind and in his heart.
He was an awesome cook - especially on the grill and designed some awesome looking yards and ponds. He loved flowers and plants. A few years before he died, Southern Living Magazine had asked to come and take pictures of his backyard in Round Rock, TX, but the family declined as our father was in hospice care at the time. A few years before that, he received an award from from the Bay Ridge Home Owner's group in League City, TX for voluntarily landscaping and keeping up the medians at the entry to their subdivision.
He was a wonderful uncle to my children and a brother to me.
