Mary (Leonard) Yates was born in 1918 to Samuel Anders Leonard and Maggie (Player) Leonard, and had siblings Wade Leonard, Jane Leonard 1923-2005, Tom Leonard, Margaret (Leonard) McDaniel, and S. A. Leonard. She married James Carey Yates, Sr., and had children Carol Yates, Sue Yates, and Ann Yates. Mary Yates died at age 95 years old in 2013. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember Mary (Leonard) Yates.


Mary Leonard 1918-2013 and grandfather, Daniel R. Leonard 1846-1924.
Daniel Leonard lost his arm in a Yankee POW camp in the Civil War. He was age 15 when he joined. My mother, Mary, was a bit intimidated by her grandfather.
