Born in Palermo, Italy, immigrated to the United States, settling in Albany, NY. While still in Italy, he married Provvidenza, she passed away in Albany, NY during the Flu outbreak in 1918 or 1919. He later married Giuseppa. He had a total of 12 children. His infant daughter died during the flu outbreak. He also lost a daughter Mary at 3 months, another daughter Mary at 7 years and a daughter Dorothy at age 21. He made a living as a farmer, growing fruits and vegetables for market.
