M's initials are on the wall of the 'Lost Sea' when he mined saltpeter for the CSA about the time that son Jeff was born. Rebecca was daughter of Henry Newton Kittrell b 1846 and wife Tressa Ann Greenway b 1849.

Taken while family was visiting Dr. Joseph Jubil Stallings, a cousin, for 3 years en route from Alabama to Bowie, Texas. The Stallings, Lindsay and Alsobrook families moved from GA to AL to LA about 1874 and settled in Bowie in 1878.
