Jerusha Bean Chitwood gravesite
Gravestone of Jerusha Bean Chitwood, 1810-1896: I found the location of this small family cemetery online and went to see it in person. It is located at the back of the old Red Boiling Springs Elementary School, now a public works building.

Monroy Hawkins gravesite, Tennessee
Gravestone of Monroy Hawkins, Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee: In early 2013, my cousin, Billy Bean, my Aunt Mildred Bean, my brother, Terry Grantham and I went to visit our family graves at Whitley Cemetery. We took along a garden saw, in order to remove a large shrub that had overgrown this grave of my great uncle. The stone was almost totally obscured by the shrub. Here the stone is revealed...another stone, hand inscribed, reads "Mother and Baby". I decided to leave it where it was as I couldn't locate a nearby grave which it might belong to.

Catherine with family
I bought this photo in an antique shop. The location and the name Catherine was written on the back.

Nancy Ann (Donoho) Slate, 1910
This is another, better image of Nancy Ann Donoho Slate. The photo must have been taken around 1910, as she passed away in 1914.
