About my family:
My family history is rich in the histories of both Europe and the Americas. I have been doing our family history for over 20 years and recently, in the past couple of years, completed a DNA test that confirms and solidifies the history I have uncovered.

As a child, Roman attended the military school in Mexico City called Heroico Colegio Militar and it is still in existence. When the revolution hit the school, the only General to oppose President Francisco Madero was the General of the Artillery school, Felipe Angeles. Angeles sided with the revolution after the "Ten Tragic Days" incident which closed the school, turned his back on the government.
Roman followed General Angeles into the revolution joining Villa's army of the North. Angeles was a major tactician and a strategic military and intellectual advisor to Villa. When a portion of the unit attacked Columbus, New Mexico, Roman was a part of that raid and, upon the final retreat, did not do so, hid and snuck away. He would make his way to Penal County, Arizona and began working for the Ray Con Copper Company. It was here he signed paperwork for the draft.

Roman Pedraza was my grandfather. He was born Roman Pedraza on February 28, 1899 in Dolores, Guanajuato, Mexico (before it was changed to Dolores Hidalgo).
He led a rich and full life and I am proud to tell you about him.
