Raymond Floyd Palmes of Morgan County, Missouri United States was born on January 28, 1922 in Morgan, Laclede County, and died at age 22 years old on December 1, 1944.
William Shurick was first and foremost a religious and family man. He loved the outdoors and converted his one-acre family home lot into beautiful trees, plants and bushes. This was difficult in the Los Angeles area they lived as the rock bed was not too deep and always challenging to grow anything on. Later when he retired and moved to Gig Harbor, Washington, his yard was the envy of all around.
His love for my mother was life-long. They knew each other as children and she was his focus throughout life. 60 years into their marriage my father took his last breath. On his deathbed, my mother was worried he might not remember her (dementia had begun its evil course). She said, Willie, do you remember me? His reply was quick and clear "yes my love, you are so beautiful". My dad was given 24 hours to live and he fought to stay alive until my mother returned to his bedside. When my mother walked into the room, she took his hand and it was at that moment he took his last breath.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
