2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Alexander Goloubeff of Huntington Station, Suffolk County, NY was born on April 18, 1895 in Stavropol Krai Russia, and died at age 96 years old on July 14, 1991 in Huntington Station, New York United States.

Parents were George Ormiston and Elizabeth Rutherford
James Ormiston, Earl of Dunbar, also known as James the Black Laird Ormiston, was a Scottish laird who lived from 1522 to 1573. He was the 12th and last of that ilk.
James obtained possession of his estate in 1550. He was one of the conspirators in the murder of King Henry Stuart (Lord Darnley), husband of Queen Mary, on 13 FEB 1567. On 12 MAY 1567 he was knighted by Mary Queen of Scots.
In DEC 1567, he was convicted of treason, in his absence. His estate was forfeited and he was outlawed. He was present at the battle of Langside, in MAY 1568, and was in communication with Queen Mary when she was interned at Carlisle prison that same year.
On 10 NOV 1573, he was betrayed, and, after a gallant fight, was captured at Jedburgh and taken to Edinburgh Castle. There he confessed to his part in the assassination plot, and he was hanged drawn and quartered on 14 DEC 1573.
