2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
Mrs. Murin was one of my all-time favorite teachers. We lived directly across the street from her on Josephine in Corcoran, CA. When I was a baby (about a month old), my mom said I was crying uncontrollably and Meta was outside. She came across the street and took me from my mom and walked back to her house as my mom followed. Mom said she laid me on her couch and surrounded me with pillows so I wouldn't fall and then played the organ for me. It quieted me down immediately and it forged a unique relationship between my mom (and me) and Meta. Also, when you went into her house, she had shelves and bookcases FULL of every gift a student ever gave her. She displayed them all and held every gift as a treasure. She wasn't married and didn't have children but she was the most amazing woman. Some may think she was odd or came off as mean or cold, but they just didn't know her. I am so blessed because of her and will always be so grateful.
