2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
She has an amazing, tender and loving spirit. She's very happy and innocent at age 4. Extremely intelligent and extremely beautiful. I remember when she was just about 18 months old and had come to visit me in the Springtime at my home in Lodi, California. She looked adorable in her tightly, pulled back, pigtails, with their curls glistening in the sun. She began to wander down a path to the garden. When she saw the flowers she stopped in her tracks, gave a little squeel and ran to them. She stood there before them, full of laughter and began clapping for them is if she could hear them burst out in song, but what her pure heart recognized and rejoiced in their beauty, often lost in today's world of business and self-absorption. She is the apple of my eye and I adore her. Now at age four she's saying clever little things such as, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" When I ask, "I don't know. What are you thinking?" She'll reply, "I'm thinking, I love you."
Christopher was 6 feet, 4 inches by the time he was 18 years old. When he was three he said to me, "Mama, when I !up I'm gonna be as tall as the sky!" I chuckled then, but we can see his dream was prophetic. He enjoys mixed martial arts and would like to become a professional in the sport. He's talented and has the perfect physical attributes for sports. He could bench press 300 lbs at multiple reps, by age 17, which I'm told makes him on a prodigy level. He loves to write his feelings in rhythmic verse known in our pop culture as Rap, but I think of it as a form of poetry and there have been many good writers of poetry in our ancestral line. Christopher is still learning to temper his emotions. He is so loving, generous and trusting. He would give you the shirt off of his back if it were the last one he owned and not think twice about it. I love him very much and I'm very proud of all that he's accomplished, his enthusiasm and dreams for his future and in spite of great personal hardships in his childhood I see him becoming a good and honorable man. Much of that is about choices and the people you chose to associate with truly have a huge impact on your life, even if they aren't apparently leading you into any terrible habits or situations. The fact is their moods, way of thinking, etc. tends to effect you in more subtle ways. I'm grateful that at this time I believe he's making good choices and sowing a few oats along the way. I love him so very much. ~Donna Lou Holloman
Sonny always had a smile on his face, from the time he was a baby. He was super smart, learned quickly and very active. I don't think I've seen a more adorable boy. He was bald as a baby but his thick hair came in very curly. It was blond originally. I'm thinking it's probably a blondish brown still, but he hates his curls and insists on cutting them so close it's almost bald. At least this is his preferred style from around age 15 to his current age at 22 years old.
